PROJECT DESCRIPTION
- Role: 3D Generalist (R&D / Technical Test)
- Core Stack: Maya, Redshift
- Main Focus: Automotive Asset Prep, Shading, Lookdev, Render Pass Setup
An internal studio technical test focused on creating a fictitious commercial for a Lexus vehicle.
Operating within a Maya and Redshift pipeline, this R&D project was designed to test high-end automotive rendering workflows
and asset preparation benchmarks.
My role involved preparing and fixing the high-fidelity vehicle model, executing realistic automotive lookdevelopment,
and configuring the technical rendering architecture.
MY TASKS
-
Model Clean-up
I ingested and repaired complex production geometry within Maya.
My focus was on optimizing heavy topology, fixing shading artifacts, and remodeling specific sections where necessary to ensure the assets were completely artifact-free and ready for high-resolution rendering. -
Lookdev
I authored and fine-tuned advanced material networks using Redshift.
I established the final visual style, surface properties, and realistic texture responses for both environment and hero assets, ensuring they reacted correctly under any lighting setup. -
Render Layer Setup & Optimization:
I structured the final render scenes and configured multi-pass AOV layouts.
I heavily optimized heavy geometry and Redshift sampling settings to maintain maximum visual quality while keeping render times efficient under tight production deadlines.
