PROJECT DESCRIPTION
- Role: 3D Generalist & Texture Artist | Contractor
- Core Stack: Maya, Redshift, Substance Designer, Fusion Studio
- Main Focus: Asset Ingestion and Pipeline Integration, Texture Enhancement, Set Dressing, Render Setup and Compositing
A 60-second cinematic announcement trailer for a mobile game title.
My role focused on ingesting diverse external assets, rebuilding and significantly upgrading their texture quality inside Substance Designer
to meet high visual standards, and integrating them into our internal Maya, Redshift pipeline.
Additionally, I supported the backend of production through environment layout, technical render layering, and shot compositing.
MY TASKS
- Asset Ingestion and Pipeline Integration: I took charge of importing external 3D models into the studio's workflow, restructuring hierarchy data and shading networks for native compatibility.
- Texture Remastering, Lookdev: I utilized Substance Designer to upgrade, re-author, and polish incoming texture maps, improving surface details and material responses to elevate the overall visual quality under Redshift rendering.
- Set Assembly, Set Dressing: I assisted in populating and arranging the digital environments, ensuring asset placement aligned with the project's art direction and shot layouts.
- Render Layers, Technical AOVs: I configured the final render scenes, setting up multi-pass AOV layouts and custom utility masks to streamline the post-production handoff.
- Shot Compositing: I performed final image integration for a selection of shots inside Fusion Studio, combining the optimized 3D renders with grading and atmospheric elements.
